Dancing Through Parenthood

RSVP HERE (Spots are limited) - Registration open until September 17th, 11:59pm.

The Canadian Alliance of Dance Artists (CADA) and Dancer Transition Resource Centre (DTRC) recognize the challenges and unique needs that parents face within the precarious dance profession. This series has evolved from member and community input and we are pleased that Dancing Through Parenthood serves as an on-going platform to listen, share, support and animate resources for dancing parents.

CREATING WITHIN PARENTING with Allison Cummings (10:00am-12:00pm)

This two-hour workshop will be focused on centring our choreographic artistic lives. Participants will be encouraged to dig into their parental lives as a resource for their exploration. Starting with simple writing and building with creative response exercises on our feet, the workshop will serve to get our juices flowing and directly connect our practice to the content of the day.

LUNCH BREAK (12:00pm-1:00pm)

An information and resource sharing session facilitated by Bee Pallomina

In this session we will discuss the new CADA west childcare subsidy. We will also share info on existing parent resources and discuss possible resources and inspiration for dance artists. Please come with any ideas and resources you have to share.
