DANCER TRANSITION RESOURCE CENTRE
Helping dancers make necessary transitions into, within, and from professional performing careers since 1985.
About The DTRC
Founded in 1985, the Dancer Transition Resource Centre (DTRC) is a national, charitable organization dedicated to helping dancers make necessary transitions into, within, and from professional performing careers.
Support
We also operate as a resource centre for the dance community and general public and support activities that improve the socioeconomic conditions of artists across the country.
Counselling
Moving to a new city, starting a family, establishing a company, going back to school – these are just some of the many transitions dancers may make throughout their dance careers. Our counselling program provides practical guidance, and emotional and psychological support to dancers in transition.
Retraining Grants
DTRC offers a range of retraining and subsistence grants to help dancers address their present needs and pursue their future career goals. Dancers can build transferable skills, explore second career options and undertake studies leading to parallel and second careers.
Advocacy
Visit our Staff and Representatives. As a national charitable organization, the Dancer Transition Resource Centre is the perfect place for artists to continue advocating for artists in order to create harmony and great change within the community.
Job Board
The Job Board helps currently performing dancers find work that aligns well with their schedules, while building transferable skills and non-performance work experience. It also helps transitioning dancers to ease into the wider work world and access job opportunities within companies that understand what dancers have to offer.
