Keynote Address—A unique opportunity to hear from an artist who has been there, done lots…and who has some wisdom to share.  With Tina Fushell - dancer, teacher, producer, and choreographer

Dancing with Words—What is dance to you…and why do you do it?  Can you describe yourself as a dancer?  This workshop focuses on how to communicate your personal dance practice and passions. It’s an interactive how-to that will definitely spark conversation! This workshop will be led by Michael Trent


A Day in the Life:  A panel discussion—What is a typical day like for a professional dancer?  Hear the answers from a diverse group of artists with distinct career paths.  You may be surprised.  You’ll definitely be inspired. With Beth Despres, Jasmyn Fyffe, Estelle Nicol, and Hollywood Jade. Moderated by Roshanak Jaberi.  

Community Fair—You are not alone!  Artist service organizations can provide professional guidance and resources, and open the door to a community of dancers.  Find out what they can offer you.

Breakout sessions:

The Art of Financial Wellbeing—A lot of work in dance is contract-based.  How do you balance your books when income is inconsistent? Are you willing to take financial risks?  If so, how far should you go?  This workshop will help you identify your priorities and incorporate those into a personal budget that meets your needs.  With Amanda Mills from Loose Change

The Business of Dance—Over your career, you may work with many different dance companies or collaborators.  How will you negotiate these jobs?  Learn from this first-class team of presenters on the business aspects of dance.  They’ll discuss essentials such as fees, contracts, standards, grants, licenses and more.  With DUO's Jennifer Bennett, Equity's Ruth Leggett and Keith Davidson, and CADA-ON's Amelia Ehrhardt
