First Steps - St. John’s

Created in partnership with DanceNL and the Dance Teachers Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (DTAN) this one day conference is designed for young dancers who are considering entering a career in professional dance. Participation is 100% free but please register online.

12:45	Dance Class Explore a new dance style with a Traditional Newfoundland Dance class.
2:15	Break/Snack
2:30	Physiotherapist Presentation Learn about injury prevention, staying healthy, and enjoying a long, fulfilling dance career with dancer/physiotherapist Tony Ingram.
4:00	Professional Dancers Panel Hear about the realities of transitioning into a dance career with professional dancers Sarah Joy Stoker, Veronique MacKenzie, Martin Vallee and TBA.
5:30	End of the day sessions
7:30	A Parents Panel Parents of professional dancers share their experiences and answer questions - with Barbara Dick, Richard Stoker and more.
