Note that the workshops will be offered in French and will take place at 3680 Jeanne-Mance, bureau 313 (DTRC Quebec Office). The format will consist of a presentation by a professional speaker, followed by a discussion with participating dancers. Snacks will be served.

MENTAL SELF-DEFENSE AGAINST HARASSMENT

Facilitator: Guylaine Martel, restorative justice expert
Description: Following the cultural sector’s desire to end harassment in the workplace, workshop facilitator Guylaine Martel – specializing in restorative justice – presents her guide to self-defense against psychological aggression. This workshop aims to increase potential victims’ awareness of harassment and means of defense by taking a preventative approach. Participants will be better equipped to identify perpetrators of harassment, take action during the first signs of aggression and minimize the effects of any incidents.

 
PLANNING YOUR CAREER PATH

Description: Considering a career transition can sometimes generate strong emotions—positive and negative—worries, doubts 
and stress. You may often wonder how, where and with what to begin? In this workshop, we will cover the cycle of transition and the emotions, perceptions andattitudes that accompany it, as well as the actions you can take to develop a satisfying parallel or second career.
 
MENTAL PREPARATION FOR RETURNING TO STUDIES AND CHALLENGES TO LEARNING

Description : The idea of returning to school can be a fearful one. The fear of not be able to, or not knowing how, to learn is a serious obstacle to professional retraining. The neuropsychologist Dr. Nathalie Desormaux will present some strategies to prepare your mind for the task of learning. She will also shine a light on certain obstacles that are sometimes encountered in an academic environment such as performance anxiety, attention deficit disorder, giftedness, and dyslexia.
