November has been an incredibly busy month at the DTRC, full of opportunities to connect with our transition colleagues around the world, and to build bridges between different industries with similar experiences of transition.
LEAP – Leading Edge After Performance – the innovative partnership between DTRC and Canadian Sport Institute Ontario, bringing professional sport and dance communities together to learn from our differences, similarities, and ongoing work to improve the transition process for high-performers, successfully held the international conference LEAP Together: Career and Life Transitions in Dance and Sport on November 11th and 12th.
LEAP Managing Director, Michael Du Maresq reflected on the experience by stating:
The LEAP Together conference really exceeded my expectations. I am so pleased with the quality of the event, the exceptional speakers and panels, and the energy and enthusiasm of our attendees. We finally brought these communities together to share knowledge, experience, and best practices related to transition, and it is evident that this sharing occurred. The high level of conversation and connection between transition stakeholders from dance, sport, and beyond was evident and encouraging as we move into the third year of the LEAP project.
