This website is owned by and operated for the Dancer Transition Resource Centre (DTRC).  Our goal is to foster a community of learning, sharing and respect.  We recognize your right to confidentiality and pledge to protect the privacy of personal information collected from our website.

Personally identifiable information

Most of the pages on the DTRC’s web site do not require you to reveal any personal information about yourself.  When you are navigating the Member/Alumni/Donor areas of our website you may be asked to provide us with personally identifiable information (for example: e-mail address, contact information, donor information, comments, etc) in the process of using these interactive services.  We will notify you before we collect any personally identifiable information about you and we will not collect any information unless you choose to provide it to us.

You are in control of any personal information you provide to us online. If, at any time, you would like to update or correct the personal information we have about you, you may let us know by contacting us at the e-mail address below.

Third Party Websites

The DTRC does not sell, rent, share, or otherwise disclose mailing lists or other personally identifiable information.  Third party service providers may be engaged by the DTRC to perform a variety of functions, such as to e-mail our newsletters, to process your donation, or to provide technical services for our website, etc. These third party providers have access to personal information if needed to perform the functions for which they are retained. However, these companies only use such personal information for the purpose of performing their roles and do not use it for any other purpose. In these cases, when information is shared, the DTRC will demand reasonable assurance that the third parties will protect your information in conformity with our privacy practices.
 

Users should be aware that when they voluntarily disclose personal information (e.g., e-mail address, phone number) by posting it in public areas of the website, that information can be collected and used by others and may result in unsolicited messages from other people.


A Note about “Cookies”

Generally, cookies are small text files a website can use to recognize repeat users and ease the ongoing access to and use of the website.  They do not come onto a user’s system nor do they pose a threat to a user’s files.  Cookies are enabled on this web site.  DTRC does not use information transferred through cookies for any promotional or marketing purposes, nor is the information shared with any third parties.  However, users may disable cookies on their browser if they do not wish to be logged in automatically.
